This Weeks Picks
1:00 pm Games:
Kansas City Chiefs (0-2) at Atlanta Falcons (1-1): Looks like I gave Herm Edwards and his guys too much credit last week. If they can’t beat the Raiders, I don’t know who they’re going to beat this year. FALCONS by 6
Fantasy Player: Michael Turner RB of the Falcons
Oakland Raiders (1-1) at Buffalo Bills (2-0): You would’ve thought that Oakland Raiders head coach, Lane Kiffin would have received a pat on the back from Owner Al Davis last week after an impressive win. Instead, he heard whispers from the media about him being fired by Davis right after the game. Geez, talk about tough luck. Davis could very well make it official after this week’s lost.
BILLS by 14
Fantasy Player: Marshawn Lynch RB of the Bills
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-1) at Chicago Bears (1-1): I believethis will be a defensive game. Both teams are ranked in the top 10 in the league for points allowed. Here’s a great stat: Bear’s quarterback Kyle Orton is 9-1 in his career as a starter at home. BEARS by 3
Fantasy Pick: Bears Defense
Carolina Panthers (2-0) at Minnesota Vikings (0-2): After a disappointing loss to the Colts last week, Vikings head coach Brad Childress has decided to bench quarterback Tarvaris Jackson and replace him for 15-year veteran, Gus Forrotte. Will Forrotte be able to solve the Vikings red zone woes? Only time will tell.
PANTHERS by 7
Fantasy Pick: Steve Smith WRof the Panthers
Miami Dolphins (0-2) at New England Patriots (2-0): This is the week were Patriot’s head Coach Bill Belichick takes the training wheels off of quaterback Matt Cassel and lets him ride in style like Tom Brady use to. PATRIOTS by 14
Fantasy Pick: Randy Moss WRof the Patriots
Cincinnati Bengals (0-2) at New Giants (2-0): So far the Giants aren’t having a post Super Bowl collapse. Eli looks to be the best Manning in the NFL these days. GIANTS by 20
Fantasy Pick: Brandon JacobsRB of the Giants
Houston Texans (0-1) at Tennessee Titans (2-0): Due to damage of their stadium by Hurricane Ike, the Houston Texans were unable to play last week. A week off will give their offense enough time to get things together. Upset Special TEXANS by 3
Fantasy Pick: Andre Johnson WR of the Texans
Arizona Cardinals (2-0) at Washington Redskins (1-1): This will be a high scoring affair as both teams can put points on the board. Games like these are why the Redskins traded for defensive end Jason Taylor- to rush the quarterback. REDSKINS by 7
Fantasy Pick: Chris Cooley TE of the Redskins
4:00 pm Games:
New Orleans Saints (1-1) at Denver Broncos (2-0): I wonder if Brandon Marshall had any jammed fingers from his 18 catches against the Chargers last week. If not, he probably needs to let quaterback Jay Cutler to lay off the heat this week. Man, can the kid throw fast. BRONCOS by 10
Fantasy Pick: Jay Cutler QB of the Broncos
Detroit Lions (0-2) at San Francisco 49ers (1-1): I can see it now. Lions fans will be complaining about another lost and the fact that they should’ve gave the 49ers John Kitna and not former back J.T. O'Sullivan. 49ERS by 6
Fantasy Pick: J.T. O’Sullivan QB of the Lions opps I mean 49ers
St. Louis Rams (0-2) at Seattle Seahawks (0-2): I’m sorry folks, but this game has to be played this week. I know both of these teams have not look like they deserve to be in the NFL, but don’t forget, either the Seahawks or the Rams have won the NFC West the last five years. SEAHAWKS by 10
Fantasy Pick: Julius Jones RB of the Seahawks
Cleveland Browns (0-2) at Baltimore Ravens (1-0): This game will answer the question. Are the Brown for real this year? There’s still time to fix the season, Brownies.
BROWNS by 6
Fantasy Pick: Kellen WinslowTE for the Browns
Jacksonville Jaguars (0-2) at Indianapolis Colts (1-1): Both teams have relied on their running game to spark the offense, but injuries have kept both teams rushing attack at a stand still. Whoever can control the ground game will win. COLTS by 17
Fantasy Pick: Joseph Addai RBof the Colts
Pittsburgh Steelers (2-0) at Philadelphia Eagles (1-1): Boy, I can’t wait for this game. This is your rock ‘em sock ‘em fight game that both teams want. Neither teams like each other nor do their fans. This game is for the Pennsylvania state bragging rights. STEELERS by 2
Fantasy Pick: Willie Parker RB of the Steelers
Sunday Night Game:
Dallas Cowboys (2-0) at Green Bay Packers (2-0): This game could very well be a preview of the NFC Championship. Once again, all eyes will be on Aaron Rodgers, who will need to please the home crowd against a premiere team. A few mistakes from Rodgers could send some cheese heads to the exit signs. COWBOYS by 14
Fantasy Pick: Terrell Owens WR of the Cowboys
Monday Night Game:
New York Jets (1-1) at San Diego Chargers (0-2): Chargers head coach Norv Turner finds himself in a similar situation as last year- with the media on his heels about his team’s tough loses and struggling super star, LaDainian Tomlinson. Don’t worry, Turner has it all figured out this week. CHARGERS by 10
Fantasy Pick: Philip Rivers QB of the Chargers
