THE QUINN Athlete of the Week is McDowell running back Alex Schmude who pierced the Cathedral Prep defense for 202 yards rushing on 17 carries while adding one touchdown, the Trojans winning 43-23.

            Going into this year, defenses will be keying on McDowell quarter A.J. Fenton. The Ramblers were expecting him to run the ball as were most people watching in Veterans Stadium.

            While everyone was watching Fenton, Trojan Alex Schmude took the ball and galloped for 202 total yards and earning the Quinn Law Firm Athlete of the Week honors. Schmude carried the ball 17 times and scored the first touchdown of the game as well as the season.
