ATHENS, Ohio - Senior fullback Jayson White
On earning the starting fullback role heading into the season opener:
It feels really good. I finally get to push it and be the number one guy for a while. My parents are going to be pretty proud of that, and it's nice to be able to make them proud this season.

On his opinion of the Ohio running game as the season approaches:
We're going to open up the offense a little this season. We have four really good running backs, and I think they'll be able to get the job done.

On his level of preparation for the role he'll play on offense this season:
Coach Solich and Coach Albin really make sure we're prepared for any situation. Whatever tool we need, they make sure we can dig in our tool box and take it out on game day.

On Ohio's running game in 2008:
We've got four really strong running backs. They all bring certain qualities to the table, and I won't rule out the notion that all four will play at some point in time. All four have done very well in camp, and we've got a great competition there. They know they have to come to practice every day with their game faces on.
