Bob Sanders, the N.F.L.'s Defensive Player of the Year, was nominated for an ESPY earlier today, July 2nd.  He was nominated for the "Best N.F.L. Player" award along with offensive players Tom Brady, Randy Moss, Eli Manning, LaDainian Tomlinson, and Brett Favre.  Bob was the only defensive player on the list.

The reason you are receiving this communication is because there is a grass roots effort by fans of Bob Sanders to generate enough votes to earn him this prestigious award.  The ESPY's are scheduled for July 20, 2008 in Los Angeles and will be televised on ESPN at 9 PM.  Award winners are selected entirely by the fans.  Voting started today and will end on July 18, 2008.

Bob has achieved so much in his brief career.  He deserves this award and it is up to all of us to get it for him.  Bob has been successful by overcoming obstacles in his professional career that are normally career enders for most.  Sanders stands at only 5' 8" but is considered to be pound for pound the toughest, most physical player in the entire league.  His bone jarring hits have earned him the nicknames of the hitman, the predator, and the eraser by his fans, teammates, and coaches.

Sanders' quick jump to stardom in the N.F.L. has created a cult-like following of fans, not only in Indianapolis but throughout the country, that are attracted to his blue collar work ethic and fearless style of play.
