Nettie Blake (Jersey City, N.J. / Marist) has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division Freshman of the Week, making her the Quinn Athlete of the Week.
Blake became the third Gannon player honored by the conference this season after Candice Hendricks (Randallstown, Md. / McDonogh) was previously named PSAC Freshman of the Week and Jen Papich (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Fox Chapel) earned PSAC Player of the Week honors.
Blake recorded her third career double-double during Gannon's 81-56 win over Urbana on Saturday. The true freshman poured in 12 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Blake also added two assists, two blocks and a steal. Blake was 4-of-8 from the floor and added four points at the free-throw line.
Blake's previous double-doubles came against Kutztown (11 points, 15 rebounds) and Millersville (10 points, 14 rebounds).
