EDINBORO, Pa. – Edinboro University’s Scott Anderson (West Falls, NY/East Aurora) and Ben Hahn (Smethport, PA/Smethport Area) have been named to the Capital One Academic All-America College Division District 2 Men’s Track & Field/Cross Country Team. Both were accorded second team honors.
Hahn, a senior in cross country and a junior in track & field, recently earned All-American honors with a seventh place finish in the 5,000-meter run at the NCAA Division II National Championships. He posted a time of 14:17.03 to earn All-American honors for the first time in track & field. He had previously earned All-American honors in cross country in 2008 with a 17th place showing. Hahn won the 5,000-meter run at the 2011 PSAC Championships.
Hahn is a Health & Physical Education major with a 3.31 GPA. He is a four-time All-PSAC and All-Atlantic Region runner in cross country.
Anderson, a sophomore, was hoping to make it a double with All-American honors in both cross country and track & field. A Health & Physical Education major with a 3.79 GPA, Anderson placed 18th at the NCAA Division II Cross Country National Championships. He was named the PSAC Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Year, thanks to his showing at Nationals along with winning the individual crown at the PSAC Championships and finishing second at the Atlantic Regional.
He qualified for the Track & Field National Championships in the 5,000-meter run, coming in 15th. He earned All-PSAC honors in the 1,500-meter run with a third place showing, and came in fourth in the 10,000-meter run.
