Two Cavs...
The Cleveland Cavaliers have assigned second-year forward Darnell Jackson and rookie forward Danny Green to the NBA Development League Erie BayHawks. Both players will be on the BayHawks roster starting Thursday, and on Friday will wear their familiar white Cavs uniforms as part of the team’s “Cavaliers Affiliate Night” promotion.
Jackson appeared in two games last season with the BayHawks coming on two separate assignments. He posted 24 points and six rebounds in his debut on February 9, 2009 in a win over the Utah Flash and added another 15 points and six rebounds for a second victory on March 18 against the Austin Toros.
Green was the Cavaliers second round draft pick, selected 46th overall, in the 2009 NBA Draft. He has seen limited action with Cleveland this season.
Both players were members of national championship teams at the collegiate level, Jackson as a member of the Kansas Jayhawks 2008 squad and Green as member of the 2009 North Carolina Tar Heels.
The BayHawks return to the Tullio Arena Thursday for a two-game series with the Dakota Wizards. Friday’s game features the team’s promotional highlight of the season that brings NBA-caliber entertainment to Erie: it’s “Cavaliers Affiliate Night” featuring the Cavalier Girls Dance Team, the Cavs Hip-Hop Scream Team, Moondog the mascot and Quicken Loans Arena host, Ahmaad. The whole team will wear the Cavs home white uniforms.
Tip-off each night is set for 7 p.m. Tickets are available at the Tullio Arena box office or at ticketmaster.com.
